“Image is Everything” and since 1932, Atlas Neon Sign Corporation has been providing sign related images to the Pittsburgh and surrounding regions. Founded by Norman Friedl and Chuck Franc during the early “Neon” era, Atlas Neon Sign Corporation captivated public obsessions with bright lights by being one of the first local companies to manufacture and install neon & porcelain signs along with Theater Marquees.

In the late 1930’s and early 1940’s we labored through hard times brought on by World War II. Raw materials used in our signs were directed to support the war demanding us to provide alternate image solutions. Wall murals and paintings quickly became a popular form of advertising that Atlas Neon Sign Corporation easily became associated with.

From the 1950’s through the 1970’s, we expanded the uses of neon and introduced many new items to our product lines including formed signs. During this time, additional members of the family were introduced to the business. By the mid 1980’s, sons Larry & Jeff took active administrative positions within the company yielding many years of installation & fabricating experiences.
